George Russell secured his first victory of the season in a flawless performance for Mercedes, leading from pole to the checkered flag. The race finished behind a late Safety Car, triggered by a collision between McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Norris, who accepted full responsibility, retired from the race, while Piastri limped to a fourth-place finish with rear damage. The incident was a painful zero-point blow for Norris, who is in a title fight with his teammate. Rookie Kimi Antonelli impressed with a sensational third-place finish, his first career podium, after a lightning-fast launch and fending off McLaren's attacks for most of the race. Max Verstappen finished second, a solid result despite not having the pace to challenge Russell for the win.
